Job Description
Salary: up to £55,000 depending on experience
Location: Wotton-under-Edge, Glos
An opportunity has arisen within Renishaw's Manufacturing division for an experienced Senior Test Development Engineer to join our In-Circuit Test team.
In this influential role, you will develop and deliver innovative manufacturing test solutions that support the successful introduction of Renishaw's cutting-edge products into production. Working closely with product development and manufacturing teams, you will drive improvements in product quality, test coverage, and manufacturing capability while helping define the future direction of electronics test within the business.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and support of manufacturing test solutions for new products and engineering changes.
- Design and deliver robust test systems by integrating hardware, software, databases, and production equipment.
- Collaborate with design teams to improve product testability, manufacturing capability, and test coverage through effective Design for Test (DfT) practices.
- Provide technical leadership for new product introduction activities, including fault investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Maintain and enhance test systems and equipment to ensure reliability, production readiness, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to manufacturing test strategies, helping shape future test technologies, methodologies, and capabilities.
Key Requirements
- Degree qualified (2:1 or above) in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline (e.g. electronics engineering, manufacturing systems, mechatronic engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, mathematics, etc.), or HNC/HND with significant relevant experience.
- Solid understanding of electronic circuit design, with the ability to interpret complex schematics and identify potential design or test challenges.
- Proven experience of In-Circuit Test (ICT) development within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding and application of Design for Test (DfT) principles.
- Experience investigating manufacturing issues and delivering effective root cause analysis.
- Experience developing and contributing to manufacturing test strategies.

Desirable Skills and Experience
- Experience developing test solutions on the Keysight i3070 platform, both standalone and automated inline systems.
- Knowledge and practical experience of NI LabVIEW.
- Understanding of Boundary Scan testing techniques.
- Software development experience using VB, C#, C++, Python, or SQL.
- High level of PC literacy and familiarity with engineering software tools.
