Senior Test Engineer
We're looking for a Senior Test Engineer for a central government department, based across multiple UK sites including Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle, Manchester, Blackpool and Leeds (hybrid) on an initial 6-month contract, paying up to £600 per day (Inside IR35).
This is a hybrid role with an expectation to spend around 3 days a week on site.
Responsibilities
The successful Senior Test Engineer will:
- Define the overall testing strategy and provide technical leadership across multiple test engineering teams.
- Own delivery of testing activities against quality, time and cost objectives.
- Act as the escalation point for defects and blockers.
- Shape test infrastructure and tooling decisions.
- Drive standardisation and best practice by sharing reusable libraries, lessons learned and reporting approaches with stakeholders.

Requirements
You will need proven experience working with the following:
- Informatica PowerCenter
- Oracle
- Defining test strategy and leading test engineering teams.
- Planning and coordinating functional and non-functional testing.
- Managing and prioritising defects with the business.
- Communicating test results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Beneficial Experience
- AWS
- Automation testing.
- SQL and working with large data sets.
You'll need to hold or be eligible to obtain SC clearance for this role.
