Senior Test Engineer - 9 months Fixed Term Contract
Help us deliver high-quality software used by our customers and One Family colleagues. You'll identify risks early, influence quality throughout the software development lifecycle, and combine strategic test design with robust automation to enable safe, reliable, and efficient delivery.
What you’ll be doing:
- Identify opportunities to implement and expand automated testing to support successful project delivery.
- Contribute throughout the full delivery lifecycle, from discovery and inception through to development and release, championing quality from the outset.
- Identify, track, and communicate quality risks, ensuring issues are understood and addressed proactively.
- Assist in articulating and evaluating business requirements, translating them into clear tests and acceptance criteria.
- Lead and support integration, system, and end-to-end testing across multiple applications and platforms.
- Play an active role in the agile process to ensure consistently high standards of delivery.

How you’ll contribute:
- Foster a culture of quality engineering, innovation, and continuous improvement across delivery teams.
- Partner closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, developers, and stakeholders to ensure shared understanding of quality objectives.
- Work closely with agile delivery teams to ship high-quality software.
- Develop and enhance automated test solutions across web and API.
- Facilitate engagement across functional areas of the business.
- Act as a trusted quality advocate, influencing testing practices and quality decisions throughout the product lifecycle.
What you’ll bring:
- Curiosity and drive to build deep product knowledge.
- Significant experience working in agile teams.
- Strong experience testing web-based applications, with a keen focus on user experience, risk, and business value.
- Strong database skills, including writing SQL.
- Experience testing APIs, integrations, and distributed systems.
- Knowledge of performance and security testing, plus good web performance practices.
- Understanding of TDD and a collaborative approach to quality.
- Strong coding skills for test automation, with experience creating maintainable, scalable automated test solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and challenge constructively.
