Theatre Practitioner – Recovery
Contract: Bank
Salary: £26.00 per hour plus holiday pay
Hours: Monday and Saturday 07:30 – 18:00.
Location: KIMS Hospital, Maidstone
Are you an experienced Theatre Recovery Practitioner looking for flexible Bank opportunities? Do you have the clinical skills and confidence to provide safe, high-quality care to patients recovering from anaesthesia? Would you like the flexibility to choose Bank shifts that fit around your existing commitments?
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and compassionate registered practitioner to join our Theatres team as a Theatre Practitioner. This role is ideally suited to a registered practitioner (Nurse or ODP) with demonstrable experience working in recovery and/or scrub, who is looking to progress their perioperative career in a clinical environment that will support your ongoing professional development to help you operate at your fullest potential.
As a Theatre Practitioner you will be a key member of our multi-disciplinary Theatres team, working flexibly across recovery and scrub, as part of a team to ensure a high standard of clinical care and safety for patients within the theatre unit.

Role Responsibilities Include
- Work primarily as a recovery and scrub practitioner
- Assess patient care requirements independently and act as a resource for other staff. Implement patient care and evaluate outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with other departments e.g. Sterile Services, Wards, Imaging Department to ensure effective and smooth-running patient care.
- Ensure that patients’ comfort, dignity and privacy are maintained at all times.
- Ensure that your own practice and the practice of others is within an ethical and legal framework.
Person Specification
- Be a registered Practitioner (RN or ODP)
- Have post-registration clinical experience as a recovery and/or scrub theatre practitioner in an acute hospital (NHS or independent).
- Have knowledge of clinical governance and its application.
- Have practical experience of change management.
- Have evidence of continuous professional development and its application.
