Description
Join our Timetabling and Module Selection team as a Senior Timetabling Officer, taking a lead role in delivering accurate, effective academic timetables and module selection processes across our sites outside of Bath.
You’ll work with academic and professional services colleagues to solve complex scheduling challenges, improve processes and help shape how we deliver a consistent, high-quality service across our growing network of locations.
About the Role
- Lead academic timetabling for sites outside Bath, creating accurate, clash-free timetables and making effective use of available teaching space.
- Manage module selection and student data, ensuring module records, diets and student allocations are accurate and support registration, assessment, progression and fee processes.
- Resolve complex timetabling and module allocation issues, including non-standard cases such as progression, reassessment, appeals and trailing modules.
- Work closely with stakeholders across academic departments, Estates, partner sites and professional services to gather requirements, resolve competing priorities and deliver effective outcomes.
- Improve and standardise processes, helping to integrate sites outside Bath into central University timetabling and module selection systems and identifying opportunities for greater efficiency.
- Provide specialist advice and support, responding to timetabling and module-related enquiries and developing guidance, training and knowledge resources.
- Support and manage team members, including providing day-to-day guidance to the Timetabling Support Officer and contributing to workload planning.
- Analyse data and produce reports to support decision-making, service improvement and the ongoing development of timetabling and module selection processes.

About You
- Experience of academic timetabling, particularly within a Higher Education environment.
- Experience of using timetabling software, ideally TimeEdit or a similar system.
- Experience of working with databases and/or student record systems, ideally SITS or similar.
- Experience of contributing to process improvement or implementing new systems and processes within a changing operational environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate issues, interpret information and identify effective solutions.
- Experience of delivering training, guidance or support to staff and stakeholders in relation to systems, processes or services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of working effectively with a range of stakeholders, including at senior level.
- Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing demands in a busy environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative, flexibility and a proactive approach to improving processes and delivering a high-quality service.

Additional Information
- Salary Grade 6 - Starting from £33,951 rising to £37,694 per annum. The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
- Some out of hours working will be occasionally required, including some evenings and specific weekends during the academic year (such as Graduation and Registration).
- Opportunities for taking annual leave during peak times of year (especially September/October) will be limited, and leave at other times will need to be assessed across the team so that service provision is not impacted.
- Interview Date - Friday 16th October 2026.
