About the Role

As a Senior Tools Engineer within our Vehicle Team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust, best-in-class tools that enable our artists and developers to create exceptional vehicle content. Working closely with the team, you will identify and resolve technical challenges throughout the vehicle pipeline, improving workflows and ensuring our tools remain reliable, efficient, and accessible. As a senior team member, you will also share your knowledge and promote high-quality engineering practices across the team.

Key Duties Include

  • Develop, maintain, and improve robust tools that support the creation and implementation of high-quality vehicle content
  • Work closely with Vehicle Artists, Technical Artists, and Engineers to identify and resolve technical problems throughout the vehicle pipeline
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve workflows, productivity, and the reliability of our vehicle tools and processes
  • Actively contribute to and encourage our collaborative and creative team spirit

Experience Required

  • Experience working as a Tools Engineer on one or more AAA titles
  • Knowledge of common DCC tools, such as 3ds Max, Maya, Substance Suite, and Houdini
  • Passion for tools development and improving the working environment of artists and developers
  • Solid understanding of code architecture, maintainability, and software development best practices
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems across content creation pipelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines
  • Passion for gaming, game development, and the creation of high-quality vehicle content

Desirable

  • Experience working with Unreal Engine 4 or 5 on a AAA title
  • Experience developing tools or pipelines for vehicle or other complex hard-surface content
  • Experience mentoring other Engineers and promoting strong engineering practices
  • Experience planning and delivering large bodies of work throughout the full project lifecycle
