About the Opportunity

Blue Diamond Recruitment are working on a new opportunity that has arisen due to organic growth for a Senior Planner to join a well established and growing planning consultancy based in Oxfordshire.

Role Description

Working as part of a tight knit and experienced team, you will deliver a diverse portfolio of projects across the private, public and community sectors. This role offers excellent variety, the opportunity to manage your own projects, build client relationships and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Planner, you will:

  • Manage a broad range of planning projects from initial appraisal through to determination.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications and supporting documentation.
  • Produce planning statements, design and access statements, appeal submissions and policy representations.
  • Coordinate pre-application discussions and planning application processes.
  • Manage planning appeals and represent clients where required.
  • Undertake site appraisals and planning assessments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Attend committee meetings, public consultations and stakeholder events.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the planning team.
  • Contribute to business development by networking and identifying new opportunities.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest professional standards.

Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:

  • Chartered membership of the RTPI (or be working towards accreditation).
  • Previous experience within the planning sector, ideally gained in either consultancy or the public sector.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system, planning legislation and national planning policy.
  • Experience preparing and managing planning applications from inception through to determination.
  • Excellent report writing, analytical and communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Experience building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • A proactive, commercially aware approach with an interest in business development.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Benefits

Offering a competitive salary c£40,000 – £50,000 plus package, scope to progress and market leading annual leave.
