The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Town Planner to join an established planning consultancy based in Macclesfield.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner looking to take the next step in their career within a growing and well-established consultancy, working on a diverse range of projects for private clients, developers, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • Ideally MRTPI or working towards chartership
  • Strong experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment
  • Good knowledge of the UK planning system and current planning policy
  • Experience managing planning applications and providing planning advice
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage your own workload and work to deadlines
  • Commercial awareness and confidence dealing with clients and planning authorities

Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied caseload of planning projects from inception through to determination
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications
  • Providing planning advice to clients and stakeholders
  • Undertaking site appraisals and planning assessments
  • Liaising and negotiating with local planning authorities
  • Supporting and managing planning appeals where required
  • Assisting with development promotion and strategic planning work
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Contributing to the wider growth and success of the consultancy
