Job Title: Senior Town Planner
Location: Macclesfield
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting an established and highly regarded independent planning consultancy in their search for a Chartered Senior Town Planner to join their growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced planner looking to take the next step in their career within a consultancy that works across a broad range of planning projects for private and public sector clients.
The Role
As a Chartered Town Planner, you will be involved in a varied portfolio of planning projects, providing professional planning advice and managing projects from inception through to completion.

- Managing a range of planning applications and projects
- Providing strategic planning advice to clients
- Preparing and submitting planning applications
- Undertaking planning research and policy analysis
- Liaising with local planning authorities and other stakeholders
- Attending client and stakeholder meetings
- Supporting business development and maintaining strong client relationships
- Working alongside colleagues and external consultants to deliver successful projects
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- MRTPI Chartered status: essential
- Strong experience within UK town planning
- Previous consultancy experience
- A good understanding of the UK planning system and relevant legislation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management and organisational abilities
- The confidence to deal directly with clients and planning authorities
- A proactive and commercially minded approach
