Penguin Recruitment is proud to be partnered with a leading planning consultancy as they continue to expand their talented planning team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Planner to join a well-established, multidisciplinary consultancy delivering a diverse range of strategic planning projects across the residential sector.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering planning applications, land promotion projects, and planning advice while working alongside specialists in development economics, design, heritage, and related disciplines. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, strengthen client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of a highly regarded planning team.

The Role

As a Senior Planner, You Will Be Responsible For

  • Advising clients on the development potential of land and buildings.
  • Preparing and supporting planning applications and planning appeals.
  • Undertaking planning policy research and providing strategic planning advice.
  • Drafting representations for Local Plan consultations and examinations.
  • Identifying and assessing land promotion opportunities.
  • Collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams to successfully deliver development projects.

Requirements

To be considered, you should have:

  • A relevant Planning qualification.
  • RTPI membership or be working towards chartership.
  • A strong understanding of the UK planning system and development process.
  • Excellent written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and client-facing skills.
  • A proactive attitude, enthusiasm, and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
