Senior Planner: Private Sector Consultancy

Location: Bedfordshire (Hybrid)

Salary: GBP45,000 per annum + benefits

Working Pattern: Full-time, flexible working hours

Are you an ambitious Senior Planner looking to take the next step in your career with a growing, forward-thinking consultancy? We're working exclusively with a highly respected multi-disciplinary firm that's expanding its Planning Team and seeking an experienced planner to help deliver major projects across the UK.

The Role

You'll play a key role in managing complex development projects from inception through to completion, typically ranging from GBP250k to GBP25m in value. Working closely with in-house design teams, external architects, and consultants, you'll oversee all aspects of the planning process - from pre-application to post-decision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the planning process for multiple large-scale projects
  • Prepare, review, and sign off on planning reports and applications
  • Advise clients on planning strategies, policies, and regulations
  • Represent the consultancy at planning committees, public consultations, and stakeholder meetings
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams and external consultants
  • Monitor and report on application progress, appeals, and compliance

About You

  • Degree in Geography, Urban Planning, or related field (2:1 or above)
  • Minimum 4 years experience in private sector planning (consultancy or developer)
  • Chartered RTPI membership or working towards it
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
