Zesta Planning Ltd is a Cheltenham-based town planning consultancy with an ambitious and growing team. We’re looking to appoint an experienced Senior Town Planner / Principal Town Planner who is keen to develop their career, build their reputation and play a key role in the continued success of the business.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious planning professional who enjoys working on a broad range of projects and is motivated by delivering high-quality, commercially focused and outcome-driven planning advice.
The Role
As a consultant at Zesta Planning, you will work closely with clients across a diverse range of planning matters, providing development management and land promotion services.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and progressing planning applications, ensuring timely and robust advice and recommendations.
- Applying your broad planning knowledge to develop practical and deliverable outcomes for clients.
- Preparing and presenting evidence at planning appeals.
- Working with landowners, developers and other stakeholders across a range of sectors and projects.
- Keeping abreast of current and emerging planning legislation, policy and best practice.
- Contributing to the continued improvement and development of our services.
- Supporting and mentoring colleagues and helping to develop the wider team.
- Building strong client relationships and contributing to business development and repeat work.
- Applying a commercial and client-focused approach to all aspects of your work.

About You
We’re looking for an ambitious and commercially aware planning professional who can demonstrate:
- A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
- Ideally, membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
- Three or more years’ relevant planning experience, gained within either the public or private sector.
- Strong knowledge and practical understanding of current and emerging planning legislation and policy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with a high degree of autonomy.
- Experience across a broad range of planning matters, with the ability to work confidently with clients, landowners and developers.
- A commitment to delivering innovative, high-quality and timely planning advice.
- A collaborative approach and a genuine interest in contributing to a growing and ambitious consultancy.
