Your opportunity
Act as a senior subject matter expert within EMEA Trade Operations, supporting the accurate and timely execution of trade lifecycle processes across multiple asset classes and products. The role covers Trade Affirmation & Capture, Settlement & Cashflows, Collateral & Margin, Complex Securities & Derivatives, OTC Operations, Listed Trade Operations, Listed Derivatives & ETD Operations, and Loans Operations. The Senior Specialist will provide technical expertise, resolve complex operational issues, strengthen controls, and support process and system improvements. The role will work closely with investment teams, brokers, custodians, service providers, and technology partners.
- Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to Trade Operations colleagues, sharing expertise and helping to resolve complex or non-standard matters.
- Perform and support end-to-end trade lifecycle activities, including trade affirmation & capture, settlement & cashflows, collateral management, margin processes, and support for listed and OTC derivatives and loans operations.
- Assess new markets, instruments, investments, and non-standard or complex requests in line with the Operations Governance procedure, working with internal stakeholders and service providers to develop practical operational solutions.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of consistent standards and best practices across Trade Operations.
- Ensure the timely and accurate processing of trade-related activities, maintaining high standards of data integrity and operational control.
- Partner with Trade Operations management and colleagues to improve the operating model, enhance controls, and support strategic initiatives.
- Work with portfolio management, technology, compliance, legal, and risk teams to develop and implement robust procedures and controls.
- Support operational projects, including requirements definition, testing, implementation, and the embedding of new processes and system enhancements.
- Support compliance with internal policies and external regulations, providing subject matter expertise for audits, regulatory reviews, and control assessments when required.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and act as a senior escalation point for complex operational issues.
- Develop and maintain operational policies, procedures, and process documentation, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.
- Flexibility to support evolving business needs when required.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.

Must have skills
- Trade Operations Expertise: Strong experience across a range of Trade Operations activities, including trade affirmation & capture, settlement & cashflows, collateral & margin, complex securities & derivatives, OTC and listed products, ETD operations, and loans.
- Technical Leadership: Demonstrated ability to provide subject matter expertise, guide colleagues, and resolve complex operational issues without direct people-management responsibility.
- Operational Control: Strong understanding of operational risk, control frameworks, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement: Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process enhancements that improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and with external partners.
- Problem Solving and Influence: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively, influence outcomes, and drive issues through to resolution.
- Team-Oriented and Client-Focused: A collaborative approach and consistent focus on delivering high-quality service to internal and external clients.
- Operational Control: Strong understanding of operational risk, control frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Process Improvement: Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process enhancements to drive efficiency and mitigate risk.

- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.
