Senior Emerging Markets Credit Trader

We have been retained exclusively to identify a Senior Emerging Markets Credit Trader. The hiring firm deploys substantial proprietary capital across EM credit and offers the successful candidate real discretion over a liquid EM Credit book spanning market neutral and directional strategies. This is a senior seat for an experienced EM credit trader looking to operate at the highest level, with scope to build and scale the desk over time.

What the role involves

  • Trade a liquid EM credit book across sovereigns, quasi-sovereigns and corporates in hard and local currency, spanning LATAM, CEEMEA and broader global EM, deploying proprietary capital across both market neutral and directional strategies
  • Identify and execute relative value and asymmetric trading opportunities across the EM credit universe, including curve trades, cross-market positioning, basis relationships and spread dislocations between sovereigns, quasi-sovereigns and corporates
  • Structure and manage complex hedging strategies across FX, rates, options and other derivatives instruments, actively managing risk and market exposure across geographies and asset classes
  • Maintain a strong read on market flows, technicals and liquidity conditions across EM credit markets, adjusting positioning dynamically in response to spread movements, macro developments and geopolitical events
  • Engage actively with counterparties to maintain pricing intelligence, source liquidity and execute efficiently across cash and synthetic instruments
  • Manage and help scale the trading desk over time, contributing to the development of trading infrastructure, risk frameworks and team build-out as the strategy grows
  • Work closely with senior investment leadership on risk budgeting, capital allocation and strategic positioning across the EM credit book

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
