Are you an experienced traffic engineering professional looking to lead high-profile projects that help shape the future of transport in Bristol?

We're looking for a knowledgeable and motivated Senior Traffic Engineer to join our City Transport team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead complex transport projects, provide expert technical advice and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that support safer, more sustainable travel across the city.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and coordinate complex and high-profile traffic and transport projects.
  • Provide specialist technical expertise and authoritative advice across the Transport Service.
  • Develop and implement solutions that improve Bristol's transport network and service delivery.
  • Build effective partnerships with internal teams, stakeholders and external organisations.
  • Manage project resources and monitor progress to ensure delivery against agreed targets and timescales.
  • Support service improvement, innovation and the development of transport strategies and objectives.

About You

  • Substantial experience in traffic engineering, transport planning or a related professional discipline, with the ability to lead projects and provide high-level technical expertise.
  • Confident interpreting legislation, managing competing priorities and communicating complex information to a wide range of audiences.
  • Experience of project management, stakeholder engagement and collaborative working.
  • Strong understanding of TSRGD 2016 and Traffic Regulation Order procedures.
