Senior Transport Planner
Location: London
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Working Pattern: Hybrid
We are working with an established transport planning consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior Transport Planner to join its London team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced transport planner looking to take the next step in their career, working across a varied portfolio of development-led projects while gaining further responsibility for client management, project delivery, and mentoring junior colleagues.
The Role
As a Senior Transport Planner, you will be involved in delivering transport planning advice across a range of development schemes throughout London and the wider South East.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans.
- Providing transport planning advice to clients, developers, architects, and planning consultants.
- Undertaking and analyzing traffic, parking, and transport data.
- Carrying out trip generation, distribution, and traffic impact assessments.
- Preparing technical reports and supporting planning applications.
- Liaising with local authorities, TfL, and other key stakeholders.
- Attending client meetings, site visits, and planning meetings.
- Managing projects from inception through to completion.
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
- Assisting with fee proposals, bids, and wider business development activities.
- Working closely with colleagues across transport planning, highways, and other disciplines.

About You
We are looking for someone with:
- 4+ years' experience within a transport planning consultancy or similar environment.
- Strong experience delivering development-led transport planning projects.
- Proven experience preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans.
- Good understanding of transport planning policy at local, regional, and national levels.
- Experience working with London boroughs and/or Transport for London.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
- Experience using industry-standard transport planning software and tools.
- The ability to manage your own workload and deliver projects to deadlines.
- Confidence dealing directly with clients and stakeholders.
- A willingness to support and develop more junior members of the team.

Chartered status or working towards chartership would be advantageous but is not essential.
