As our Transport Planning team continues to grow, we're looking for an ambitious and experienced Senior Transport Planner to join us in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their career, gaining greater responsibility, leading projects and working closely with clients while being supported by a highly experienced and collaborative team.
Based in our modern Reading office, you'll be part of a thriving multidisciplinary environment, working alongside experts in civil engineering, environmental planning, flood risk, utilities and masterplanning to deliver innovative solutions for a diverse range of public and private sector clients.

About The Role
As a Senior Transport Planner, you'll play a key role in delivering a wide variety of transport planning projects across the South East and beyond.
You'll work with major developers, land promoters, local authorities and public sector organisations, helping to unlock development opportunities, support planning applications and develop sustainable transport solutions that make a lasting impact.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, build strong client relationships and develop your technical and commercial skills within a supportive and growing team.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Leading and delivering transport planning projects from initial feasibility through to planning consent.
- Preparing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Transport Statements and supporting technical reports.
- Undertaking transport analysis and junction assessments to support development proposals.
- Providing transport planning advice on a range of residential, commercial, mixed-use and infrastructure projects.
- Managing project programmes, budgets and quality to ensure successful delivery.
- Working closely with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Supporting business development activities, including fee proposals and client engagement opportunities.
- Mentoring and supporting graduate and consultant-level team members.
- Contributing to the continued growth and success of our Reading Transport Planning team.

About You
We're looking for a motivated and commercially aware transport planner who is passionate about delivering high-quality work and ready to take on greater responsibility.
You'll Ideally Have
- A degree in Transport Planning, Geography, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience within a transport planning consultancy environment.
- A strong understanding of the UK planning system and transport planning process.
- Experience preparing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Transport Statements and associated technical reports.
- Experience undertaking transport analysis and junction modelling using industry-standard software.
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing projects and coordinating technical deliverables.
- The confidence to build relationships with clients, local authorities and project teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A desire to mentor and support junior colleagues.
- Membership of, or progress towards, a relevant professional institution such as CIHT, CILT or Chartered Transport Planning Professional (CTPP).
