Senior Transport Planner

Location: Edinburgh | Fully Remote

Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits

Permanent | Full Time

Are you an experienced Senior Transport Planner looking for a fully remote opportunity with a well-established consultancy working across some of the UK's most interesting development, infrastructure and energy projects? I'm working with a highly respected built environment and infrastructure consultancy that is looking to strengthen its Transport Planning team with an experienced Senior Transport Planner.

The role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, with a particular focus on energy, infrastructure, commercial and residential developments, while working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

The Role

You'll be involved primarily in the early stages of projects, from site feasibility through to planning submission, with opportunities to broaden your experience across public-sector work, policy, research, innovation and stakeholder engagement.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing Transport Assessments and Transport Statements
  • Supporting Traffic & Transport chapters for Environmental Impact Assessments
  • Working on large-scale energy and infrastructure projects, including renewable energy developments
  • Undertaking site visits, feasibility studies and transport due diligence
  • Carrying out junction assessments using ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG
  • Developing access strategies, internal layouts and highway mitigation proposals
  • Working in accordance with DMRB, Manual for Streets and relevant local standards
  • Acting as a key point of contact for transport matters across projects
  • Liaising with clients, architects, multidisciplinary teams, local authorities and other stakeholders
  • Managing project budgets, programmes and resources
  • Supporting tenders, fee proposals and business development activities

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
