Role Description
The Senior Transport Planner is a full-time, on-site role based in Birmingham, responsible for planning and optimising daily transport operations across the company’s fleet and routes. This role involves creating efficient transport plans, allocating vehicles and drivers, and monitoring live journeys to ensure on-time, secure deliveries to multiple destinations.
Daily tasks include:
- Coordinating with warehouse teams and drivers
- Resolving issues or delays
- Maintaining compliance with regulations and internal standards
- Updating stakeholders on delivery status

Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Transportation Planning and Transport Modelling skills for route design and optimisation.
- Candidates should possess Operations Management and Transportation Management skills to oversee fleet utilisation, compliance, and daily logistics activities.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills for coordinating with drivers, warehouse staff, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Candidates should ideally have experience in logistics or transport planning within time-critical or complex operational environments.
- Candidates should have proficiency with transport management and tracking systems, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Candidates should ideally hold a relevant qualification in logistics, transport planning, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
