Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Senior Transport Planner - Woking

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Transport Planner to join a growing independent transport consultancy in Woking. The team is continuing to expand its portfolio of development planning projects, providing an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of projects, work closely with clients and local authorities, and develop their career within a specialist consultancy. The initial focus will be on development-led transport planning, supporting projects from early movement strategies and masterplanning through to planning and reserved matters applications.

The Role

You will be involved across a varied portfolio of development planning projects, with responsibilities including:

  • Preparing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and accessibility assessments.
  • Developing transport and movement strategies for residential, mixed-use and strategic development sites.
  • Undertaking trip generation, distribution and junction capacity assessments.
  • Using software such as TRICS, TEMPro and Junctions / ARCADY / PICADY.
  • Supporting initial highway design work, including AutoCAD and swept path analysis.
  • Liaising directly with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Attending stakeholder meetings, consultations and public exhibitions.
  • Managing projects and workstreams through to successful delivery.
  • Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
