Senior Transport Planner - Cambridge - c£40,000

Elevation Recruitment Group is proud to be partnering exclusively with a rapidly growing business in Cambridge that is looking to bolster its team with a Senior Transport Planner.

This role is ideal for an established Transport Planner looking to take the next step in their career and develop towards a future Transport Manager position.

The Role

  • Lead daily planning and optimisation of LGV routes across the UK
  • Allocate drivers and vehicles efficiently to meet customer requirements
  • Manage operational disruptions and last-minute customer changes
  • Support and mentor transport administrators
  • Enable compliance with Driver Hours, Working Time and Operator Licence requirements
  • Analyse transport KPIs and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements
  • Work with the driver trainer to embed safe, courteous and efficient driving behaviours
  • Build strong working relationships with customers, drivers and internal stakeholders

About You

  • 3-5+ years' experience in transport planning
  • Proven experience planning UK LGV operations involving bulk tippers, tankers or flatbeds
  • Strong understanding of transport compliance requirements
  • Confident with route planning and resource optimisation
  • A clear communicator with the leadership potential to develop and motivate a team
