Role Description

The Senior Travel Consultant role is a full-time, hybrid position based in Manchester, with flexibility for part of the work to be completed from home. In this role, the consultant will design and book tailor-made itineraries, providing expert advice on long-haul destinations and creating personalized holiday packages that align with client preferences and budgets.

  • Managing complex travel arrangements
  • Handling reservations
  • Ensuring accuracy across bookings and itineraries
  • Delivering high-quality customer service through phone, email, and online channels
  • Responding to inquiries
  • Resolving issues
  • Maintaining strong client relationships

The role also involves working closely with suppliers, monitoring availability and pricing, meeting sales and margin targets, and contributing to continuous improvement of products and processes within the team.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong experience in Travel Consulting, with a proven ability to design tailor-made itineraries and advise on long-haul destinations.
  • Candidates should have skills in Travel Management, including handling complex multi-stop journeys, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, and optimizing travel plans.
  • Candidates should be proficient in Travel Arrangements and Reservations, including using booking systems and GDS experience.
  • Candidates should demonstrate excellent Customer Service skills, with a focus on building client trust, managing expectations, and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Previous experience in a senior or lead travel consultant role, preferably within tour operations or long-haul leisure travel, is highly beneficial.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team and engage effectively with diverse clients and partners.
  • Good numerical and IT skills, including familiarity with reservation platforms, CRM systems, and standard office software.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple bookings in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for travel and destination knowledge of Canada, America, Alaska, Australia, and New Zealand is an advantage.
