Role

The primary role is to generate sales above and beyond a given target via the creation and implementation of bespoke travel itineraries within the Africa team.

Responsibilities

  • Creating high-end, bespoke travel itineraries
  • Ensure product is aligned with Steppes Positive Impact Travel ethos
  • Engaging with clients to ensure excellent customer care before, during and after travel
  • Meet and exceed sales targets
  • Following up on leads & client feedback

Skills/experience required

  • Strong knowledge of Africa
  • Experience of working within the travel industry creating high-end itineraries
  • Excellent written, oral and sales skills
  • Extremely high standards of customer service
  • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a pressurised environment and to strict deadlines
  • Positive attitude towards teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Willingness to be stretched in reaching demanding sales targets

  • Hours of work are 09:00 – 17:30 hours, Monday to Thursday, 09:00 – 17:00 Friday, and occasionally over weekends and evenings (e.g. if attending supplier and trade events as required)
  • Paid holidays – up to 33 days (which includes 8 bank holidays)
  • Up to two days a week working from home
  • Pension, private healthcare and travel insurance – contributory after a six-month probationary period
  • Full-time position at 37.5 hours
  • Individual and team performance bonus
