Job Title: Senior Trials & Commissioning Engineer – Electrical
Location: Scotstoun – site-based role
Salary: Circa £46,000 dependent on experience

Role Description
Join a growing multidisciplinary team, reporting directly to the Senior Commissioning Team Lead. Collaborate with global stakeholders and attend key Equipment Acceptance events, supporting the successful delivery of the Type 26 programme.
Develop your marine engineering expertise through comprehensive training while contributing to innovative projects. With clear career progression opportunities, this role offers excellent scope for professional growth within a high-performing team.
Core Duties
- The electrical Set to Work of all T26 Platform Equipment from Gas Turbines, Gearboxes and Generators to Individual Pumps / Fans and Instrumentation
- Responsible for ships live systems electrical safety through permits and energisation programmes under the safe systems of work policies
- Attending all ships sea trials and demonstrate major machinery to the client and acceptance authorities
- Fault finding and technical investigation into design issues
- Writing test and acceptance documentation for all ship platform systems to use at ship and demonstrate to naval authorities

Essential Skills
- Minimum qualification of HNC Level in an engineering discipline (extensive experience will be considered where academic qualifications are not met)
- Ability to work in a multi-discipline fast paced environment and good communication skills with internal and external customers
- Complex Ships Systems Fault Finding and Resolution for Set to work
- Ability to read and understand technical electrical engineering drawing and manuals for complex equipment
Engineers should hold relevant STEM qualifications and work towards Incorporated or Chartered status through a recognised professional institution. Support will be provided for accreditation, with preference given to professionally registered candidates.
The T26 Platform Commissioning Team
The T26 Platform commissioning Team is a fast-paced environment with exciting prospects and high levels of responsibility. The team takes an in build dead ship, and energises all the ships platform systems, sets them to work and ultimately delivers an operation T26 Frigate to the royal Navy through a series of sea trials. The team is responsible for the operation and demonstration of all platform systems up until the point of handover these include Diesel Generators, Propulsion Motors, Platform Management Systems and all Ships Auxiliaries.
