About The Role

Salt is seeking a talented Senior UI Designer (Visual) to join their team on an 11-month fixed-term contract, starting from September 2026. This role is perfect for a craft-focused designer with a passion for creating visually stunning digital interfaces. The Senior UI Designer will be responsible for producing pixel-perfect, highly-crafted user interfaces across web and interactive platforms. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for typography, layout, colour, and motion, ensuring that every project reflects the highest standards of visual excellence. You will work closely with Creative and Design Directors to translate complex brand guidelines into compelling, on-brand digital experiences for some of the most recognizable brands globally. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects, including AI-driven and agentic experiences, where your visual expertise can truly shine. The role requires a blend of technical skill and creative vision, with an emphasis on prototyping, micro-interactions, and seamless collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual craft, including striking and considered work that showcases mastery of typography, layout, colour, and motion design. You should have a solid understanding of product thinking and interaction design principles, enabling you to collaborate effectively with UX and engineering teams. Experience designing for large-scale platforms or global brand ecosystems is highly desirable. Candidates with predominantly agency-side experience, or a combination of agency and client-side work, will be considered favorably. Proficiency with the latest AI design tooling and workflows is essential, reflecting the evolving nature of digital design. Excellent communication skills are required to confidently present and defend creative decisions, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client expectations. A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to work efficiently across concept and execution phases are fundamental to success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Create highly detailed and polished UI designs for web and interactive platforms, ensuring visual excellence and brand consistency across all projects.
  • Develop and prototype agentic-driven interfaces and micro-interactions that enhance user engagement and experience.
  • Collaborate with Creative Directors, UX designers, copywriters, and developers to translate complex brand guidelines into visually compelling digital experiences.
  • Utilize modern AI design tools to accelerate the creative process, pushing the boundaries of visual innovation.
  • Present your work confidently to stakeholders, articulating the craft, rationale, and strategic thinking behind your designs.
  • Maintain a keen eye for detail, ensuring every element aligns with the overall user experience and brand identity.
  • Adapt quickly to project needs, working efficiently across multiple projects while maintaining high standards of quality and polish.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in UI and AI-driven design to continuously enhance your craft and contribute to the studio's innovative culture.
