Contract Role – Senior UI Frontend Java Developer – London/Hybrid – 12 months initial - Inside IR35
We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior UI Frontend Java Developer to join our Equities Engineering team in Execution Services Platform.
Role Overview:
Job Title: Senior UI Frontend Java Developer
Location: London/ Hybrid (4 days onsite per week)
Contract Type: Contract
Duration: 12 months initial
Rate: £900/day UMB OR £759.49/day + holidays (20 days + 8 bank holidays pro rata) PAYE
Key Requirements:
10+ years of experience designing, building, and delivering real-time, scalable, and resilient software applications within Financial Services or similarly complex, high-throughput domains.

- Frontend Development: Proficiency in modern front-end technologies including Angular, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML/CSS, with working knowledge of jQuery and component-based UI architecture.
- VP (Frontend-focused): Strong Angular experience; handles real-time UI development
Both roles are initially contract, with expectation to convert to permanent within the 12-month cap.
Technical Requirements
- Frontend: Angular 21, WebSockets, real-time UI; Figma or similar UI tooling a plus
- Backend (nice-to-have): Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, MQ
- Backend (nice-to-have): FIX protocol (learnable on the job), cloud experience
- AI tooling: Strong familiarity with AI code generation tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Devin, GitHub Codex) - goal is to AI-generate close to 100% of code
- Domain: Financial services background preferred; equities experience ideal but not mandatory- technical strength is the priority
