Who we’re looking for
Senior User Experience Designers to help us develop the global UX and visual design for HSBC Private Bank.
Are you passionate about creating first-class online and mobile experiences? Do you want to define how customers will interact, discover, and experience the products you create in the future?
HSBC is seeking talented Senior UX designers capable of leading the design and user experience of HSBC Private Banking products. Candidates need to have a strong sense of ownership, passion to provide great customer experiences, and excellent troubleshooting skills even when in high-pressure situations. They must also have experience in leading the entire end-to-end lifecycle of the product conception and design. This will also include mentoring and developing other Designers within the team as well as stakeholders.
We operate within a fast-paced, highly collaborative start-up-like environment inside HSBC. To be successful, you need to be flexible and entrepreneurial. You are a true owner - you are obsessed about the customer and drive relentlessly to optimize and improve the customer experience. You collaborate with product owners, business analysts, software developers, and partner teams. You are comfortable with a degree of ambiguity and willing to develop quick prototypes, iterate, and improve.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
