Senior UI/UX Front-End Developer

Location: Surrey (Office-Based)
Salary: Around £100,000 per annum
Visa Sponsorship: Available

We are looking for an experienced Senior UI/UX Front-End Developer to play a key role in shaping the future of our next-generation web applications. This is a strategic, hands-on position where you'll lead the implementation and evolution of our user interface architecture, creating modern, high-performance web experiences for complex engineering and scientific software.

Working closely with Product, Design and Engineering teams, you'll transform sophisticated technical workflows into intuitive, scalable applications used by thousands of customers worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the direction of our products while helping establish best practices, reusable component frameworks and engineering standards across our growing technology platform.

The Role:

  • Design and develop modern, responsive web applications using JavaScript frameworks such as React.
  • Build scalable, maintainable front-end architecture using component-based design principles.
  • Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, product owners and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Drive front-end performance, usability and accessibility across multiple applications.
  • Help define and implement reusable UI components, design systems and front-end development standards.
  • Contribute to the ongoing modernisation of our software platform, ensuring solutions are scalable and future-proof.
  • Influence technical direction and champion best practices across the development team.
  • Support and mentor developers, promoting high-quality engineering practices and continuous improvement.

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.

Skills & Experience:

  • Significant commercial experience developing modern web applications using React or similar JavaScript frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of front-end architecture, component-based development and web application performance optimisation.
  • Experience building scalable front-end systems for complex software products.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, product owners and backend developers to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with Electron or similar desktop/web hybrid frameworks.
  • Experience developing and maintaining platform-level UI frameworks or design systems.
  • Background in technically complex environments such as engineering software, scientific applications, enterprise platforms or data-driven systems.
  • Previous experience mentoring developers and helping establish engineering standards within growing development teams.
