Senior Underwriter – New Line of Business

Salary: £85,000 + bonus/benefits
Location: London / Hybrid

A new growing MGA is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Underwriter to join their team and play a key role in expanding the business into new lines of business.

This is an exciting opportunity for an Underwriter who is looking for more than simply managing an established book. You will have the opportunity to implement, develop and take ownership of a new class of business, helping shape the proposition, establish the underwriting strategy and build a profitable portfolio from the ground up.

You will have genuine autonomy and influence over the development of the class, working closely with the wider business to establish the proposition, develop broker relationships and drive growth.

The Role

  • Take ownership of the development and implementation of a new line of business.
  • Develop and execute the underwriting strategy for the class.
  • Build and manage a profitable portfolio from the ground up.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and develop strong broker relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider MGA leadership team to shape the product and proposition.
  • Assess, quote and underwrite new business in line with agreed appetite and authority.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and make recommendations to support sustainable growth.
  • Help establish processes, procedures and underwriting guidelines as the class develops.
  • Play an active role in the continued growth and strategic direction of the MGA.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
