Senior Financial Lines Underwriter

This role will work within the National Underwriting Centre based in Manchester and requires 3 days a week for office attendance.

You will be responsible for managing an offline renewal portfolio which will include large, complex accounts for clients across the UK & Ireland. You will be expected to have strong technical experience in Financial Lines products including Directors & Officers (D&O), Pension Trustee Liability (PTL), Employment Practices Liability (EPL), Crime and additionally Professional Indemnity (PI) or Cyber.

You will also play an important role in coaching and supporting colleagues, helping to develop capability across the team and it is expected that you have a well-established external network.

You will be required to uphold Chubb’s standards of underwriting integrity, service, and quality, whilst acting as a strong advocate for the Chubb brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and retaining a portfolio of larger, complex renewals in accordance with Chubb’s underwriting strategy and best practice standards.
  • Ensure underwriting decisions are made with integrity, maintaining high levels of service and quality.
  • Coaching and supporting colleagues within the team.
  • Attend external meetings as required to develop and maintain close working relationships with brokers.
  • Build and maintain a strong external reputation, acting as an ambassador for the Chubb brand.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with key branch and product stakeholders to drive performance and encourage collaboration.
  • Seek out and secure cross-sell opportunities both within the Financial Lines suite of products but also in the wider P&C arena.
  • Behave in a manner consistent with Chubb’s core values, ethics, culture, and service standards, both internally and externally.
