Senior Underwriter or Underwriter – Trade Credit (New Business)

Manchester (Hybrid Working)

Do you have Trade Credit experience and a passion for winning and developing new business opportunities?

We're looking for a Senior Underwriter or Underwriter to join our growing Trade Credit team, playing a key role in driving profitable growth across our new business portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a highly specialist market, build strong broker relationships, and influence the continued success of a dynamic and expanding business.

Candidates applying for this role should be aware that QBE has announced it is selling its global trade credit and surety business to Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. It is likely therefore that any successful candidate will commence employment with Swiss Re rather than QBE. Swiss Re will fully participate in the recruitment process

The Opportunity

In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and underwriting new business opportunities in line with our business plan and risk appetite. You'll work closely with brokers, customers, and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, deliver tailored trade credit solutions, and contribute to portfolio growth.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
