About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Swiss Re Corporate Solutions at an exciting moment of growth. As a Senior Underwriter or Underwriter within our Trade Credit team in Manchester, you'll be at the heart of driving profitable new business, delivering tailored credit insurance solutions, and helping to shape the future of a team with real momentum behind it. You'll work in a specialist, fast-paced market where your expertise, commercial instincts, and relationship skills will be valued and rewarded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new business submissions across the Trade Credit portfolio, assessing risk in line with business plan targets and risk appetite
  • Drive profitable growth by meeting and exceeding individual and team new business objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, customers, business partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Provide technical underwriting expertise to support business development activity and trading decisions
  • Represent Swiss Re Corporate Solutions in the market, strengthening our brand presence and reputation within the Trade Credit space
  • Contribute to business planning and portfolio management, providing insight and data to support strategic decisions
  • Manage your pipeline effectively, prioritising opportunities and maintaining a proactive approach to new business development
  • Continuously develop your technical knowledge and market expertise to stay ahead in a specialist and evolving field

About the Team

Our Trade Credit team in Manchester is an exciting, newly established unit within Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, bringing together specialist expertise from a strong heritage and combining it with the global reach, financial strength, and innovative culture of Swiss Re. As we build and grow this team, there is a genuine opportunity to help shape how we operate, influence our approach to the market, and be part of something truly new. We are a collaborative, commercially driven group with a shared ambition to become a leading force in the UK Trade Credit insurance market. You'll be joining at the ground floor of something special.

About You

We're looking for a commercially minded underwriting professional who brings solid Trade Credit knowledge together with the drive, energy, and relationship skills to win and grow new business. You'll be someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, takes ownership of your portfolio, and is motivated by results. Whether you're an experienced Senior Underwriter or a talented Underwriter ready to step up, we want to hear from you.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the Credit Insurance market, with solid working knowledge of Trade Credit underwriting principles and products
  • Demonstrated track record in new business development, including identifying opportunities, managing pipelines, and closing deals in a commercial underwriting environment
  • Strong technical underwriting skills, including risk assessment, financial analysis, and decision-making within defined authority levels
  • Excellent broker development and relationship management capabilities, with the ability to influence, present, and negotiate effectively

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week. The base salary range for this position will be shared with you during the interview process.
