Role Overview
We’re building a new specialist professional liability MGA focused on emerging risks created by the adoption of AI within licensed professions.
Our first product is focused on US law firms, and we’re looking for an experienced US Lawyers Professional Liability (LPL) Underwriter in London to help build the proposition from the ground up.
What you’ll do
- Shape our US Lawyers Professional Liability underwriting approach
- Develop underwriting guidelines, appetite and referral criteria
- Review policy wording, coverage, exclusions, limits and retentions
- Support pricing and risk selection across US law firms
- Underwrite individual risks as the portfolio launches
- Work closely with capacity providers, brokers and claims/legal specialists
- Translate emerging AI risks into practical underwriting questions and controls

What we’re looking for
- 5–10 years of Professional Liability / PI underwriting experience
- Meaningful experience with US Lawyers Professional Liability
- Strong understanding of US law-firm risks, LPL wordings and claims drivers
- Experience within a carrier, Lloyd’s syndicate or MGA
- UK/London based with experience underwriting US business
- Comfortable building a new book rather than inheriting an established one
- Interest in AI and emerging risks, prior AI underwriting experience is not required
