University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled therapist to join the Hand Therapy team at UHP.

The post holder would fulfil a specialist clinical role with a specific focus in upper limb spasticity management, including pre and post-elective surgery and Botox therapy and splinting in both outpatient, inpatient and child development centre settings.

The aim of the role is to lead on and optimise pre and post elective surgery and Botox care for largely paediatric / adolescent patients, with spasticity patients under the care of the plastics service, while working alongside the hand therapy team with a plastic hand therapy trauma caseload.

This will include both paediatric / adolescent and adult inpatients and outpatients who have sustained tendon/nerve injury/repair, tendon transfer and tendon lengthening procedures.

This is a newly funded post with a focus on service development and monitoring including collection and analysis of data and outcome measures. This will be vital to ensuring the success of the post and the development of the service.

Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
