Senior UX/UI Designer
Location: Leeds (Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite)
Salary: Up to £58,000 (DOE) + discretionary bonus
The opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer to join the design team within a growing, employee-owned digital agency.
This is a specialist UX/UI role with a strong focus on web, rather than a general digital or graphic design position. The role is weighted approximately 60% towards UX and 40% UI, combining research-led UX thinking with polished interface design to create user-centred digital experiences across a varied portfolio of websites.
You’ll take ownership of UX/UI across significant client projects, working from discovery, research and early-stage definition through to customer journeys, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity interface design, developer handover and quality assurance.
Alongside hands-on project delivery, you’ll have scope to influence UX processes, introduce new ideas and best practices, support other designers and help shape how the agency approaches UX/UI as the capability continues to grow.
You’ll join a collaborative, values-driven environment with a strong emphasis on quality, ownership and continued development.
What you’ll be doing
As a Senior UX/UI Designer, you’ll take ownership across a variety of client website projects and ongoing retainers, collaborating closely with designers, developers, project managers and client teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading UX/UI workstreams across website projects from discovery through to delivery
- Planning and contributing to discovery, user research and stakeholder engagement
- Creating customer journeys, user flows, sitemaps and information architecture
- Producing wireframes and interactive prototypes to define functionality and user behaviour
- Designing polished, responsive and accessible digital interfaces
- Translating research, behavioural insight, business requirements and technical considerations into intuitive digital experiences
- Building and evolving scalable design systems, components and reusable patterns in Figma
- Working closely with developers to ensure solutions are technically achievable and implemented effectively
- Preparing detailed developer handovers and maintaining quality through design QA
- Working directly with clients, confidently communicating UX thinking and the rationale behind design decisions
- Using analytics, research and user behaviour to identify opportunities around usability, conversion and customer experience
- Helping improve internal UX/UI processes, standards and ways of working
- Sharing knowledge and supporting the development of less experienced designers

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
