Senior User Researcher

User Research | Service Design | Digital Transformation

Location: Manchester (Hybrid Working)

Salary: £55,000 - £66,000 + Benefits Package

About the Role

We're supporting a leading digital consultancy as it continues to grow its User Research capability across the UK. With multiple hires planned, this is an excellent opportunity to join a people-centred organisation delivering impactful digital services across the public and private sectors.

You'll work as part of multidisciplinary Agile teams, helping organisations better understand their users, validate assumptions and design services that create meaningful outcomes. This role combines hands-on research, stakeholder engagement and leadership responsibilities, making it ideal for experienced researchers looking to further develop their consulting career.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading and delivering user research across complex digital programmes
  • Planning and conducting qualitative and quantitative research activities.
  • Working closely with designers, product managers and engineers within Agile teams.
  • Turning research findings into clear recommendations and actionable insights.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Championing user-centred design and inclusive research practices.
  • Supporting and mentoring more junior researchers.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong commercial experience in User Research.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary Agile delivery teams.
  • Expertise across a range of user research methodologies.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
  • Experience influencing design, product and delivery decisions through research.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching or leading other researchers.
  • Public sector or consultancy experience would be highly beneficial.
