Job Title: Utility Assessor (NERS, Site Audits, BOPAS, ISO 55001, PAS 128)
Location: 1 Trinity Park, Birmingham
Position Category: Assessors

About the Role
This critical role involves undertaking assessments across multiple schemes managed by LRQA, including:
- National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS)
- Northern Power Grid Site Audits
- Build Offsite Property Assurance Scheme (BOPAS)
- Asset Management Standard ISO 55001
- PAS 128 (Underground Utility Detection)
The candidate will perform complex remote and onsite assessments while adhering to budget, contractual, and quality parameters.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments (remote/onsite) and report findings in a structured, appropriate format, ensuring compliance with:
- Agreed broad parameters
- Budget and contractual requirements
- Own and monitor other employees’ assessment work as requested.
- Present assessment outcomes to external clients at a senior level, recommending solutions where possible.
- Manage routine administrative tasks aligned with company processes.
- Assess and justify workload value, allocate time/effort, and issue quotations as required.
- Maintain technical knowledge via Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Ensure proper alignment with legislation, industry standards, accreditation schemes, and internal procedures.
- Mentor and develop other employees for knowledge transfer and application.
- Act as a client relationship point of contact, fostering strong ties between LRQA and external clients.
- Improve service delivery by incorporating client feedback and collaborating on business growth initiatives.
- Undertake project management, including budget tracking, risk assessment, and contract compliance.

Requirements
Technical Knowledge & Experience
- Relevant industry expertise: Electricity, site assurance, asset management, and/or utilities.
- Scheme proficiency: Experience with one or more of the aforementioned schemes (e.g., NERS, PAS 128).
- Regulatory awareness: Strong background in ISO 55001 standards and relevant UK/EU regulations.
- Technical assessment skills: Proven ability to evaluate complex processes efficiently.
