Job Title: Senior User Researcher - AI - Scientific Domain

Location: Remote with occasional travel to London required

Salary/Rate: £517 per day inside IR35

Start Date: 21/09/2026

Job Type: Contract - 6 months

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading publishing clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Senior User Researcher to join their team for a six-month contract.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

We are looking for a Senior UX Researcher to join the Corporate Markets UX team. The UX team works closely with Product and Tech squads, providing design thinking, a human-centric approach, and the expertise to imagine and deliver great digital experiences. In this role you will be specifically working on the development of an AI tool to enhance scientific research. Our mission is to understand the complex needs our customers and design solutions using innovative technologies to serve their purpose.

  • You will be a key part of our innovation-focused team and you will work with this team to guide their understanding of user behaviours, needs, and motivations.
  • Your work will range from customer discovery to usability testing on prototypes and live products.
  • You will decide and suggest the most appropriate methodologies to use during the product development lifecycle and ensure findings are communicated to your immediate team and beyond.
  • You are an expert user of several research and testing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing UX research support and guidance to our innovation team.
  • Planning, conducting and delivering impactful research, working closely with UX Designers, Product Managers, team members and stakeholders.
  • Explore the problem space from different angles and creatively adapt different techniques to work towards solutions.
  • Share your research findings widely.
  • Be actively involved in the UX team, including by attending and contributing to regular meetings such as research support sessions.
  • Undertake activities necessary to conduct research ops efficiently, including maintaining our research repository.

Required Skills/Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Extensive experience working on discovery-focused generative user research, ideally using a Jobs to be Done methodology.
  • Ability to design qualitative and quantitative experiments to suit the research question, project stage and timescales.
  • Experience planning, conducting and delivering user research applying a range of methods such as UX surveys, interviews and usability testing.
  • Ability to examine analytics data to inform research strategy and qualitative insights.
  • Ability to analyse and present findings, giving recommendations for future iterations and better UX, based on research outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a wide range of roles, and present your research in an engaging way to different audiences.
  • Experience in conducting research for AI tools will be an advantage.
  • Experience in working in scientific domains will be an advantage.
