About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use): 10

Summary

Financial Risk Analytics provides products and solutions to financial institutions to measure and manage their market risk, counterparty credit risk, regulatory risk capital, and derivative valuation adjustments. Using the latest analytics and technology such as a fully vectorized pricing library, Machine Learning, and a Big Data stack for scalability, our products and solutions are used by the largest tier-one banks to smaller niche firms. Our risk analytics solutions are available deployed, in the cloud, or can be run as a service so we free up internal resources to focus on business priorities.

Financial Risk Analytics is seeking a Senior UX/UI Designer to join the team in London, working on our evolving product suite across Buy and Sell Side risk. They will be designing for products used by the world’s largest banks and financial organisations to manage billions in risk exposure.

The role will involve data heavy end-to-end design, understanding client needs and business goals, and translating them into intuitive experiences. They will develop and maintain design systems and build powerful prototypes to share with developers, stakeholders, and prospects.

Responsibilities

The Senior UX/UI Designer will work with product, technology, support, professional services, and client-facing teams to gather and analyse requirements, translating complex problems into robust interfaces promoting user-centered design principles.

This hybrid UX/UI role will require expertise at all stages of the product lifecycle, from discovery and research through to delivery and iteration. Working with the Director of Design, the candidate will create high-quality UI designs that are clear, accessible, consistent, and align with the S&P Global brand.

Close collaboration within the team will also be vital to their success, ensuring designs are feasible and effectively implemented, maximizing output with the development resource available, and capable of presenting and communicating design rationale clearly to stakeholders and clients. They give and receive feedback well and stay curious.

The designer will be required to maintain and develop prototypes built with Figma to reflect our product roadmap, new features, and concepts, and to support implementation and quality assurance, reviewing developed features to ensure they match the intended experience. Attention to detail is critical to our success and an expectation our clients have of us and the products we deliver. They will have an interest in exploring the potential of AI-assisted design and development and be open to experimenting with Figma Make alongside Claude Code.

They will maintain and evolve our existing FRA design system to support new features and technologies, promoting accessibility by incorporating WCAG guidelines into designs and maintaining rigorous brand consistency.

They will work closely with developers to support implementation, exporting UI elements and documenting wireframes. They will also review and test new features before release, and perform usability testing to identify and troubleshoot UX problems and help refine requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
