Associate Director / Director – Valuations

Scotland

A leading property consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Associate Director or Director to join its established valuation team in Scotland. This is a genuinely busy role with a strong pipeline of work already in place, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to get involved in a high volume of instructions from day one. The team is well established, with strong support in place and excellent opportunities for long-term progression.

The Role

The successful candidate will work across a broad range of valuation instructions throughout Scotland, with some coverage across Cumbria and Northumberland.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking and signing off valuation reports.
  • Carrying out inspections and valuations across a range of commercial property and trading businesses.
  • Managing a high volume of valuation instructions, with approximately 120 inspections per year.
  • Working on substantial individual assets, typically in the £25m–£30m range, with regular exposure to assets valued at up to £100m.
  • Managing client relationships and developing strong professional networks.
  • Working closely with clients, lenders and other professional advisers.
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Supporting the wider valuation team, including Healthcare & Medical where required.
  • Working towards individual income targets within a strong commission structure.

The Candidate

We are keen to speak with MRICS-qualified valuers currently operating at Associate Director or Director level. Experience in trading valuations would be particularly advantageous, although strong general commercial valuation experience will also be considered. Relevant backgrounds could include:

  • Commercial valuations
  • Offices
  • Industrial
  • Warehousing
  • Trading valuations
  • Secured lending

The successful candidate will need to be comfortable managing a busy workload, dealing with multiple instructions and working to deadlines, while maintaining a high standard of reporting and client service. For a Director-level appointment, the role will also involve taking responsibility for the profitability and growth of the team, developing new business and helping to grow the wider operation.
