About the Role
We are searching for an experienced Textile & Dyeing Specialist, male or female, with a strong, hands-on background in Mohair velvet fabric production to act as a Senior European Technical Consultant for a leading global manufacturer of premium upholstery fabrics.
In this role, you will serve as a high-level technical advisor to the company's R&D and production team in China, helping them optimize dyeing recipes, solve technical finishing issues, and meet the high-quality standards of the European luxury furniture market.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Guidance & Problem Solving: Provide practical, hands-on technical support to optimize dyeing formulas, chemistry, and finishing processes specifically for Mohair velvet.
- Quality & Process Optimization: Troubleshoot technical faults, color consistency issues, and fabric hand-feel to ensure alignment with European premium market expectations.
- Remote & On-Site Support: Support the technical team in China remotely on an ongoing basis, with occasional short-term technical visits (3-4 times a year) to the production facilities.

Requirements & Qualifications
- Hands-on Experience: Proven track record in the production, dyeing, and finishing of velvet upholstery fabrics, with specific hands-on experience on Mohair velvet.
- Technical Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of dyeing chemistry, recipe adjustments, fiber behavior, and velvet finishing machinery.
- Role Background: Ideal candidates may come from roles such as Dyeing Master, Head of Finishing, Textile Technologist, or Mill Manager.
- Location & Availability: Ideally based in Belgium / Flanders — a leading European hub for high-end upholstery velvet production — or elsewhere in Europe, working in Smart Working / full remote mode, with availability for remote consulting and occasional travel to China.
- Languages: Good working English is welcome, but technical competence and proven Mohair experience are the primary criteria (translation and interpretation support will be provided for day-to-day operations).

Compensation
Indicative range: €60,000 – €100,000 gross/year, if hired under an employment contract. For candidates who prefer to retain independent professional status, the role can also be structured as a technical consultancy agreement, with compensation to be defined during the interview process.
