We are looking for an experienced and highly professional Senior Vetting Advisor

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of complex vetting and security screening activities that directly support the delivery of some of the UK's most significant construction and infrastructure projects. You'll be a trusted subject matter expert, working closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure the highest standards of compliance, security and candidate experience.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing and reviewing complex vetting and security screening cases across the business.
  • Providing expert advice on vetting policies, procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Conducting risk assessments and making informed recommendations on vetting outcomes.
  • Acting as the escalation point for challenging cases, stakeholder queries and compliance concerns.
  • Ensuring all screening activities meet regulatory, contractual and client requirements.
  • Supporting internal and external audits while driving continuous compliance improvements.
  • Monitoring service standards, KPIs and vetting performance metrics.
  • Building strong relationships with hiring managers, external providers and regulatory bodies.
  • Coaching and supporting junior team members, helping to develop capability and best practice across the function.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance vetting processes, controls and the overall customer experience.

What You'll Need

  • Significant vetting experience, with at least 5 years operating within a vetting, compliance or screening environment, ideally within construction, infrastructure or project-based industries.
  • Strong knowledge of background screening processes, compliance requirements and security standards.
  • Excellent analytical and risk assessment skills.
  • Proven experience handling complex and sensitive casework.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and the confidence to make balanced, evidence-based decisions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience interpreting policies, regulations and compliance frameworks.
  • High levels of professionalism, discretion and integrity when handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency in vetting systems, case management tools and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and delivering excellent service.
