About the Role

At BULKHEAD, we're looking for a talented Senior VFX Artist to create stunning real-time visual effects that bring our worlds, weapons, gameplay systems, and cinematic moments to life.

Working within Unreal Engine 5, you'll own the creation, implementation, and optimisation of high-quality VFX while collaborating closely with Art, Design, Engineering, and Audio teams. You'll be responsible for delivering effects that not only look incredible but also perform efficiently in a multiplayer environment.

What You'll Do

  • Create and implement high-quality real-time VFX using Unreal Engine 5 and Niagara.
  • Develop effects for gameplay, environments, cinematics, and first-person experiences.
  • Optimise effects to meet performance and memory budgets across target platforms.
  • Work closely with Designers and Engineers to integrate VFX into gameplay systems and features.
  • Collaborate with Audio to ensure effects work seamlessly alongside sound design, maximising impact and player feedback.
  • Build and maintain scalable, reusable VFX systems and workflows.
  • Utilise Blueprints to drive and trigger VFX, with a solid understanding of how effects integrate into gameplay events and systems.
  • Mentor and support other VFX artists, helping to raise the quality bar across the team.
  • Research new techniques and help drive innovation within the studio's VFX pipeline.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
