  • Partner with 1st line teams, Global Asset Safety, Business Compliance Officers, Risk, Legal and other control partners to support a coordinated and consistent global oversight model.
  • Provide proactive Compliance input on business-as-usual activity, regulatory developments, new business initiatives, transformation programmes and material change impacting client asset safety.

  • Provide 2nd line Compliance leadership and challenge in issue, breach and violation management, including root cause analysis, materiality assessment, remediation planning and regulatory notification considerations where appropriate.
  • Contribute to oversight of regulatory reporting processes with a direct linkage to client asset safety requirements and associated governance expectations.
  • Prepare and review governance materials, escalation papers, thematic analysis and trend reporting for senior management, legal entity governance and other relevant forums.
  • Support the business and control functions on external audit activity, regulatory reviews and internal reviews where specialist client asset safety expertise is required.
  • Work with Compliance Testing and other assurance functions to guide review focus in areas of heightened or emerging risk and support interpretation of issues identified.
  • Represent Compliance in internal and external forums, including industry working groups and regulatory or market practice discussions relevant to client asset safety.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on strategic initiatives affecting client asset safety, including regulatory change, digital asset developments, custody model evolution, books and records transformation and other business change.
  • Provide guidance and subject matter support to colleagues and junior team members as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the achievement of wider team objectives and adapt responsibilities, where required, to reflect local regulatory requirements and business needs.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
