I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Deliver high-quality policy content: produce precise, unambiguous KYC Policy, supported by well-structured guidance and publication artifacts.
  • Execute change with rigor: document and manage detailed rollout plans.
  • Advise with credibility and challenge constructively: give timely, pragmatic guidance on new products, identify KYC control requirements, and challenge proposals to align with regulatory expectations and the firm’s risk appetite.
  • Maintain a strong daily operating cadence: lead efficient stand-ups, clear blockers quickly, keep action logs current, and synthesize progress into concise weekly updates for leadership and KYC governance forums.
  • Prioritize strategically: recommend quarterly policy-change sequencing based on regulatory urgency, operational readiness, capacity, and client experience.
  • Be the SME others rely on: provide authoritative guidance across KYC domains (CDD, beneficial ownership, periodic refresh, EDD).
  • Translate regulation into controls: perform gap analyses on laws and regulatory publications, convert requirements into actionable policy and control designs, and partner with process and technology teams to enable adoption.

  • Full lifecycle policy change management—rollout planning, training, adoption tracking, remediation oversight, and effectiveness measurement.
