I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we’re looking for:
- Significant product leadership experience across product strategy, development, commercialisation or enablement.
- A proven track record of taking products or platforms from strategy through to successful market adoption and commercial impact.
- Strong understanding of technology platforms, systems architecture and how products operate within broader technology and data ecosystems.
- The credibility to work effectively with highly technical teams without needing to be a hands-on developer.
- Experience shaping go-to-market strategies, positioning products and clearly articulating value to clients.
- A track record of operating successfully within ambiguity and ideally building a new function, team or capability from the ground up.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills within complex organisations.
- Experience building, leading and developing high-performing teams.
- A strong combination of commercial awareness and client-centric thinking.
- An understanding of AI and its growing role across product, technology and modern operating models.

Backgrounds of interest:
We are open-minded on sector background, although relevant experience is likely to come from large technology or data-led organisations, martech, adtech, media or platform-based businesses.
Of particular interest would be individuals with experience across streaming or media platforms, major technology businesses, DSPs, SSPs or similarly sophisticated product, technology and data ecosystems.
The exact job title is less important than the depth and relevance of your experience. We would welcome applications from Heads of Product, Product Directors, VP Product, Heads of Product Strategy, Heads of Product Commercialisation, Heads of Product Enablement, CPO-level leaders or equivalent.
This is not a traditional engineering leadership position. It is an opportunity for a product-led, commercially minded technology leader who can connect strategy, capability, clients and execution, while building something new within a complex global organisation.
