We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior VMware Consultant to join their technical team in Manchester.

This is a senior-level opportunity for someone with strong VMware expertise who can operate confidently across complex virtualisation environments, provide technical consultancy, and support the design and delivery of enterprise infrastructure solutions.

You’ll work closely with technical teams and clients to design, implement and optimise VMware environments, providing expert guidance across virtualisation, infrastructure and cloud technologies.

The role will involve:

  • Designing, implementing and supporting complex VMware environments
  • Providing senior-level technical consultancy to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Working across VMware virtualisation, compute, storage and networking technologies
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex infrastructure issues
  • Supporting upgrades, migrations and infrastructure transformation projects
  • Producing technical documentation and contributing to solution design
  • Working with stakeholders to understand technical requirements and translate them into robust infrastructure solutions
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced engineers

We’re looking for someone with substantial commercial VMware experience who can demonstrate:

  • Strong experience working with VMware vSphere / ESXi
  • Hands-on experience with Broadcom VMware following the VMware acquisition
  • Strong understanding of virtualisation architecture and enterprise infrastructure
  • Experience designing and implementing VMware solutions
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in complex enterprise environments
  • Strong communication and client-facing consultancy skills
  • The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with wider technical teams

Experience with technologies such as vCenter, NSX, vSAN, Aria/Cloud Foundation, networking and storage would be highly advantageous.

Relevant VMware certifications such as VCP or VCAP would also be beneficial.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior VMware specialist to take on a technically challenging consultancy role with a well-established client, working on complex infrastructure environments and transformation projects.
