INTERNAL VACANCY
We are looking for a Senior Officer to support the Volunteer Service. You will need to take a lead supporting an established team on a daily basis reporting directly to the Service Manager.
Join us in York, as a Volunteer Project Officer, and play a vital role in shaping and growing our Volunteer Service across the city.
We require someone passionate about supporting volunteers and vulnerable young people and their families.

As a Senior Volunteer Project Officer, you'll directly assist the Volunteer Manager in expanding volunteer programmes aimed at preventing escalating needs.
- Collaborate with the Volunteer Manager to oversee and deliver key volunteer programmes
- Create and launch new project ideas that support Children’s Social Care goals
- Lead recruitment, training, and retention efforts for volunteers across the service
- Provide structured, compassionate supervision and guidance to volunteers
- Support independent return interviews when a child or young person has gone missing from home.
- Take a lead on collating data and interpreting this for the Safeguarding Board.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
