Role Description
This is a senior volunteer role for Quantum AI Collaborators, with a time commitment of up to 3 hours per week in a remote capacity. The role involves contributing to research and concept development at the intersection of quantum computing and AI, including reviewing literature, identifying emerging trends, and exploring practical use cases for public and private sector partners. Daily activities may include drafting brief reports or slide decks, supporting the design of pilot projects and proof-of-concept initiatives, and collaborating with other volunteers and subject matter experts in online meetings and working groups. The collaborator may help refine frameworks for responsible and secure deployment of quantum and AI technologies, support ecosystem and community initiatives, and contribute to thought leadership content such as articles, blog posts, or discussion notes. The position is designed to be flexible and impact-focused, enabling experienced professionals and advanced learners to shape early-stage ideas and strategies in a fast-evolving field.

Qualifications

- Foundational knowledge of quantum computing principles (e.g., qubits, gates, algorithms) and familiarity with AI/ML concepts such as machine learning pipelines, model evaluation, and data ethics.
- Experience or strong interest in applying quantum and AI technologies to real-world domains such as cybersecurity, fintech, smart cities, or digital infrastructure.
- Ability to conduct structured research, synthesize technical and policy-oriented information, and present insights clearly in written summaries or slide formats.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working in remote, cross-disciplinary teams, including comfort with virtual meetings and shared documentation tools.
- Background in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, physics, engineering, data science, mathematics, or technology policy) or equivalent practical experience.
- Awareness of responsible innovation, security, and governance considerations in emerging technologies, with an interest in multi-stakeholder engagement and ecosystem building.
