VP Credit Risk Technology | C# /.NET / SQL | London

I’m working with a major global investment bank that is expanding its Credit Risk Technology capability in London.

This is a VP-level engineering role for someone who sits at the intersection of software engineering and Credit Risk. They are not looking for a generic C# developer who happens to have worked in financial services, genuine Credit Risk knowledge is a core requirement. The successful candidate will join an established risk technology function during a significant period of transformation, with responsibility spanning both hands-on engineering and broader architectural / technical leadership.

What you’ll be working on:

  • Building and enhancing Credit Risk technology platforms
  • C# /.NET application development and technical design
  • SQL, data processing, feeds and batch infrastructure
  • Credit Risk analytics, modelling and risk calculations
  • Counterparty / Credit Risk technology and related risk data
  • Large-scale migration and transformation programmes
  • Consolidation and integration of third-party risk platforms
  • Replacement / modernisation of legacy risk technology
  • New entities, feeds, data pipelines and business processes
  • Increasing use of AI-assisted engineering and tools such as GitHub Copilot
  • Working closely with Risk, Technology and senior stakeholders

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Important: Market Risk, Liquidity Risk or Regulatory Reporting experience alone will not be sufficient. The key requirement is demonstrable Credit Risk / Counterparty Credit Risk experience. The role is based in Central London / Moorgate, with 3 days per week in the office and Thursday as the key team day.

There is also a genuine progression path towards Architecture and Technical Team Leadership. If you're a senior C# engineer who has spent meaningful time building technology within Credit Risk / Counterparty Risk, I'd be interested in speaking with you.
